Program

Pick up time 
  • You will picked up from your hotel around 20:00 o’clock and drive approximately 3 hours, 220 km to Moses Mountain and St. Catherine to climb Mount Sinai and visit the Greek Orthodox St. Catherine’s Monastery.
Climbing mosses mountain 
  • Mount Sinai and St. Catherine Monastery trip ,You will start your journey by climbing Moses Mountain at 1:00 am and the descent will be at 7:00 am.
  • You will be able to witness the sunset from the top of Moses Mountain.
  • We will provide you a torch; we also recommend a Sensible and comfortable walking shoes.
  • Some warm clothes will be needed when you get to the summit in winter you will need lots of warm clothes.
  • You can go two thirds of the way up the mountain by camel, but the last third must be done by foot “700 steps”.
  • Mount Sinai is one of the highest points in Egypt around 2,285 meters above sea level to enjoy amazing view of Sun rising over the magnificent Mountains around.
  • There are also a few tea and snack stops on the way. “Optional”.
Breakfast in ST. Catherine monastery
  • After descending from Mount Sinai, breakfast is done in the monastery’s restaurant or a restaurant next to the monastery.
  • Then visit St. Catherine Monastery.
ST. Catherine monastery 
  • Then visit St. Catherine Monastery opens at 8:45 am – 11:45 am, except Fridays and Sundays and during Coptic religious holidays).
  • It is an Orthodox Greek Monastery, within its amazing walls rests a citadel like no other, incredibly rich in important religious and historical structures.
  • one of its treasures is the St. Catherine’s Museum where there are icons attributed to the painter Angelo’s, one of the most famous artists of the 15th century, or to his peers.
  • In addition to all six icons by Michael Damaskenos which are considered among the most important works of the Cretan School of the 16th century.
