Travel from Sharm to St. Catherine monastery where you will climb Mount Sinai also known as Mount Horeb (Gebel Musa) to see the sunrise over the desert on an unforgettable visit to the place where Moses received the 10 Commandments. Explore St. Catherine’s Monastery and learn about the history of St. Catherine and see the fascinating relics within the Monastery.
On arrival at approximately 1.00 am, the first point will be climbing the 2285 m high mountain with one of our bedouins guide, it’ll be around 2 AM – 5 AM. You will climb to the top of the mountain on time of sunrise where you can enjoy a beautiful view. After coming down we will visit the Monastery of St. Catherine. It was built between 527 and 565 A.D. The monastery is believed to have been built around the site of Moses’ Burning Bush. During your visit you will visit the chapel of a Greek Orthodox church to see famous icons and the Mosaic of Transfiguration. Finally we will come back to Sharm El Sheikh, where you will arrive back to your hotel around 13:00.

A down payment (20%) will be required when confirming your booking and can be paid by credit or debit card (Visa / MasterCard) via PayPal Secured payment system on our website. The balance of payment (80%) will be required on arrival / pick up, to be paid to your tour director in cash.

Excursions Egypt does not charge a cancellation fee for tours and excursions cancelled for ‘force majeure’ reasons such as volcanoes, earthquakes, or reasons beyond control. If cancellation happens due to personal or business reasons and Excursions Egypt has already incurred costs on your behalf, these costs will be transferred to you.
